    Match report

First on court, Simon Boucher (4) and Sacha Cooper (1) took on Chris Lavery and Johnny Carne respectively. Simon closed out some closely fought games 3-0 on the middle court, happy to win in 3. Sacha came out strong in the first to close out 11-8, before losing some concentration and conceding the second 11-2. The third went to a tie break, which Sacha took 12-10, before a fourth game with many match balls, claimed on the third attempt via a mistakenly tinned forehand volley. Without a fifth string player available to Cotswold B, the final rubber saw Tony Richmond (2) taking on Mitch Crawford. Mitch looked to close out rallies as quickly as possible, and found success in the first game via quick attacking returns of serve; straight kills, straight drops or cross-court kills. Tony took the next two before giving away a five point lead at the start of the fourth, eventually closed out by Mitch; Tony took the 5th despite a tight scoreline through the beginning and midgame (up to 7-7) 11-7. Stroud A celebrate finishing top of Prem B with a well-deserved Christmas break.
