Match report

With a 7.15pm start time, Monmouth 2nd and 5th string were first on court.

Simon Boucher (5) took on Tom Lyons on court 1, losing the first before moving through the next three to claim the match.

Tony Richmond (2) took the first game well against Phil Croager, before a lapse in the second that saw a levelling of the score. Tony upped the pace a little, lengthened rallies, and was helped across the line by some tinned shots in four games.

Dave Norton (4) played well to squeeze a first game tie-breaker, before meeting less resistance in the second and third games.

Meanwhile Sacha Cooper (3) played a tough 5-setter, going down 2-1 in games and looking lost before claiming the reins again and winning in five.

Eishin Arita (1) finally stepped up against Tej Saran Singh, battling well to claim a game, but ultimately always trailing on the score board in the last two games, losing in 4.

Stroud A took a 4 matches to 1 victory, and top spot in the league. Another week off for half term next week before we play Cotswold B away.
