Login: | spring 2020 league updateHi Everyone, It has been an interesting 4 months to say the least with everyday passing waiting to hear information that may impact upon how squash is played and may return. With the release of guidance from England Squash ready for restricted versions of squash to be played on the 25th July, we have made the decision to formally end the spring league 2020. With consideration to previous team captains concerns around fairness of covering match costs spread over the course of the spring league. We suggest that team captains contact other team captains to square up balance sheets for matches not played. Therefore, where matches have not been played with a certain team will require renumeration to balance team kitties. This will only apply for matches where the first leg has already been played and the return leg was due to be played prior to government lockdown and therefore unplayable. Please note: court bookings that may have been prepaid to a club venue by the home team for matches being cancelled from the 16th March 2020 onwards will not be included in balancing team kitties. This is an issue for teams to discuss with club venues/hosts to recover costs of cancelled courts caused by the government lockdown. The GSA committee will now need to decide on how to move forward with finishing league positions, promotions and relegations. However, this will not be decided until we know when team squash can resume again. There will be lots to consider and consultations with club captains will be made to assist in how best to move forward from this current position. Thank you for your patience kind regards Mark Toseland |
