Match Report - Stage 1 Junior Inter County Championships - Brighton

    U19 Boys

The team consisted of Nathan Mead, Joe McGrath and Harrison Hall. We started the draw against a very strong Sussex team which we then realised were the reigning champions.  All played really well and maintained positive attitudes, heads remained high to the end, although we were unable to win any matches.

Our second round was against Devon, again there were some great performances and this time we had some results.  Harrison went first and kicked off with a 3-1 victory, next was Nathan who after a hard start came back to win 3-2 after being 0-2 down!  Joe then completed the victory with a 3-0 win – what a result!

    U17 Boys

The team consisted of Jack Bloomfield, Jamie Carmichael, Will Salter, Angus hall and Archie Banks.  At 9.00 we were facing Oxfordshire, but the early start didn’t put our boys off we came through that round 5-0 up, fantastic!

The second round proved a bit tougher, but after some very close games saw us gain a 3-2 win with the overall draw victory. The boys remained resilient to the end and this sees us with a place in the finals – well done boys!

Despite a very early start and a long drive to Brighton the the girls played well in their first match beating Suffolk 4-1.
Next they were up against the mighty Essex. This was a very close encounter, they all battled hard and won the tie 3-2 which was a fantastic result for Gloucestershire.
The final match was against Devon and we won this 5-0 which meant we topped the group and will look forward to the finals in Nottingham.

They lost their first match against Kent 2-1 with Isobel securing a great win at number 1! Next up was Hertfordshire and we won 3-0 which was a great result for the girls.
Finally they were up against SE Wales who were very strong. Unfortunately they all lost but they fought hard, played their very best and did Gloucestershire proud.
